Salford City vs Bromley – Preview

Bromley will be looking to turn round a recent run of disappointing results in League Two on Tuesday night, when they travel up to Greater Manchester to face Salford City.

The Ravens lost 2-0 at home to Grimsby Town on Saturday, leaving Andy Woodman’s side without a win in five league matches and slipping down to sixteenth in the table with 35 points from 28 games.

One of the few highlights from the match for Bromley was the debut performance of Millwall loanee Adam Mayor at left wing back, who only joined the Hayes Lane club on Friday.

Omar Sowunmi was suspended and the injured Idris Odutayo also missed the game on Saturday.

Salford City go into the game on the edge of the play off places in eighth with 44 points from 28 league matches. Karl Robinson’s side have drawn their last two games, ending a run of three defeats prior to that.

The most recent draw being a 2-2 away at leaders Walsall on Saturday, Cole Stockton and Hakeeb Adelakun putting The Ammies two up before conceding twice late on at The Bescot Stadium.

The game has been re-scheduled after the original fixture was postponed just over an hour before kick off, with Salford honouring tickets for the first match and offering to pay for the coach travel of the Bromley fans affected.

The only previous game between the sides at Moor Lane was in the National League back in March 2019, which saw Bromley take the lead through JJ Hooper on 85 minutes, before conceding two late goals from Lois Maynard and Nathan Pond to hand Salford a 2-1 win. City were promoted via the play offs that season and have remained in League Two since.

After the departures of Callum Reynolds to Boreham Wood and Levi Amantchi to Walsall on Friday afternoon, with Bes Topalloj also extending his loan at Sutton Utd and Myles Weston at Hornchurch, Woodman did add two more to the squad on deadline day.

Defender Maldini Kacurri signed on loan from Arsenal and winger Marcus Ifil came in on a permanent deal from Brighton.
