Salford City v Bromley preview

Having had their promotion from League Two confirmed last weekend, Bromley now eye up the title of Champions as they go into their last two matches, starting with a trip to fourth placed Salford City on Thursday night.

Bromley drew 0-0 at home to promotion rivals Cambridge Utd last Thursday night and with results going their way on Saturday, Andy Woodman’s  team had their top three finish confirmed. The Ravens are currently top of the table with 84 points from 44 games.

Salford go into the game sitting in fourth place with 77 points from 44 league matches, one point behind Cambridge Utd in third, although they are still not guaranteed a play off spot with Chesterfield only four points behind in eighth.

Last weekend Karl Robinson’s team won 2-1 away at Oldham Athletic, Adebola Oluwo and Daniel Udoh with the first half goals that saw The Ammies bring the points home.

Salford have been on a good run of form since the start of March, which has brought them into touching distance of the top three promotion places at the vital time.

When the sides met at Hayes Lane in November, Bromley won 2-0 with goals from Omar Sowunmi and Will Hondermarck securing all three points for The Ravens who were just hitting form.

Bromley will still be without the injured top scorer Michael Cheek and defender Jesse Debrah.

This game looks set to be a close, hard fought one, with Salford still in the hunt for automatic promotion and Bromley aiming for the league title under the lights at Then Peninsula Stadium.

Kick off is at 8pm and it is being shown live on Sky Sports.
