It was a lively game between Rochester and Petts Wood & Holmesdale, with plenty of chances, goals and a few big moments at both ends.

Rochester got off to a flying start, taking the lead after just seven minutes. Logan Thompson was played through by Mack Reilly, and he made no mistake to put the hosts ahead. Petts Wood & Holmesdale looked to respond, with Armani-Jordan Martin getting an effort away in the 12th minute, while Joel Wakefield and Mo Diaby had a chance to shoot but ended up overplaying a couple of passes.
Rochester doubled their lead in the 18th minute when Reilly finished after a flick-on from Logan Thompson. There was almost an immediate response from Petts Wood & Holmesdale, but Lewis Heywood-Oriogun had a goal ruled out for offside a minute later.
The visitors kept pushing, and their efforts paid off in the 29th minute when Joel Wakefield poked the ball home to make it 2–1. Rochester nearly found another just before half-time, with Tom Loynes heading Liam Wilkins’ corner towards goal, only for the Petts Wood keeper to make the save. Mack Reilly also saw a free-kick blocked by the wall just before the break.
