Kent Cricket have announced that leg-spinning all-rounder Mo Rizvi has extended his time as a Kent first-team cricketer until the end of the current season.

The 27-year-old will be available for Kent’s remaining Rothesay County Championship fixtures, and the rest of Kent Spitfires’ Vitality Blast campaign.

After impressing for the Second XI earlier in the Summer, Rizvi was originally signed to take part in the 2025 Metro Bank One Day Cup and made six appearances in the competition.

For the Second XI, Rizvi averages 70.25 with the bat and 22.05 with the red ball in the Second XI Championship, scoring 100 not out against Warwickshire Second XI and taking best figures of 7-90 against Glamorgan Second XI.

On extending his time at Kent this Summer, Rizvi said: “I’m so grateful for the opportunity to continue to play professional cricket with a great side that have big things ahead of them.

“Kent have made me feel so welcome and a part of this squad during the One Day Cup, so I’m determined to perform well for this great Club for the rest of this season.

“I hope that I can contribute to successes on the field for my team.”

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “Mo has a fantastic work ethic and has fully embraced the opportunities given to him in the One Day Cup.

“He is a good option to have from a batting perspective lower down the order and also provides a different style of leg-spin with the ball, adding depth to our spin attack in our upcoming first-class and T20 matches.”
