Riga to leave Blackpool?
Riga to leave Blackpool?

Jose Riga and Karl Oyston never seemed like a match made in heaven. Blackpool’s disorganised pre-season has unsurprisingly spilled over into the season proper and the Tangerines are bottom of the table.

Earlier in the week Riga’s assistant, Bart de Roover, quit the club, claiming he had never been paid.

Stories were circulating at the end of the week that suggested Riga had not returned to Bloomfield Road after a break in Belgium. He was reportedly unhappy with Oyston’s failure to land any of the players he wanted before the transfer window closed.

Owen Coyle seems to be Riga’s likely replacement.

If Michael Morrison does leave Charlton, the Addicks would clearly need to bring in a replacement. It could be a loan signing or a free agent and there area number of British based players who may be considered.

One is Fitz Hall, who is vastly experienced and a free agent. A Londoner, Hall is 33-years-old but Roland Duchatelet’s preference for young players does not seem to extend to central defenders.

Hall has been at Watford for the last two seasons and was at Queens Park Rangers before that. There were rumours of Hall possibly joining the Addicks last season.

The ’emergency’ loan window opens on Monday and clubs will be able bring players in under the scheme until Thursday 27 November. The maximum duration of a loan under this system is 93 days.

Clubs who envisage converting such loans to permanent deals, or standard loans, in January will have to wait until 30 September to ensure continuity.
