Riga tipped for Charlton return
Riga tipped for Charlton return

The South London Press reported on Sunday evening that Jose Riga is poised for a return to The Valley, possibly in time for Tuesday’s game at Huddersfield.

Charlton Athletic

Riga was in charge for the final sixteen games of the 2013/14, harvesting 24 points, as he led Charlton to safety.

Riga may find he has a harder task on his hands this time around, but Addicks fans will be hoping he can work his magic again.

It is thought that the appointment will be for the rest of the season, just as it was two years ago.

In his previous stint at the club, Riga was assisted by current head coach, Karel Fraeye. Whether the duo will work in tandem again, or whether Fraeye will depart remains to be seen. But his time at the helm looks to be over.

Fraeye won two, drew four and lost seven during his thirteen match spell in charge.

In two years under Roland Duchatelet’s ownership, Charlton have seen Chris Powell, Jose Riga, Bob Peeters, Guy Luzon, Karel Fraeye, and seemingly Riga again, occupy the managerial hot seat.
