Brad Ray has been reflecting on what started as an excellent weekend and ended with him losing the championship lead in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park.

Ray is remaining upbeat and positive, and there were plenty of positives to take from the weekend, a lap record race win and some blistering pace on qualifying and races one and two before he crashed out. He was pushing and starting to stretch the pack a little as he tried to build a lead in the 12 lap sprint before a costly mistake at the Gooseneck, ended his race.
Race three he had an issue which prevented them his Raceways Yamaha from moving forwards from his seventh place grid position, in face having got a good start, he started to fall backwards as the laps ticked off. He came over the line in 12th place in the end.
The team had done well to rebuild the bike after the crash but something unfortunately wasn’t quite right in the set-up following the rebuild.

Speaking after the weekend, Ray said: “Cadwell Park was a weekend of two halves for me and Raceways Yamaha. We’d been fast all weekend, qualifying on pole with a new lap record, and I felt really good on the bike.
“We managed to take our 11th win on Sunday, but unfortunately, I crashed out of Race 2 from the lead, and a few issues in the final race meant we couldn’t be as competitive as expected.
“It was just one of those weekends – we’ve had a run of them lately – but we’ll stay positive, regroup, and come back strong at Donington Park.”
