In a game that came to life after the half time break, Ramsgate progressed in the Velocity Cup at the expense of Welling United.

Goalmouth action was at a premium in the first forty-five minutes, but it all changed after the break with the Rams prevailing by the odd goal in five.
Former Wing, Ian Gayle, drew an excellent save from Freddie Norman when he tested him with a powerful header, then the Welling goalkeeper made a more comfortable one from Tijan Jadama. He was again called into action when tipping Ryan Kingford’s twenty-five yard drive onto the bar and over before he pushed Alfie Paxman’s low cross-shot away.
It wasn’t all one way, however the visitors didn’t threaten the Ramsgate goal until TQ Addy’s header was knocked out by Ramsgate goalkeeper Aiden Prall and Manu Oke-Williams’ follow up was blocked on the line.

Two minutes after the half time break, Ramsgate went ahead. Although Norman saved Kingford’s driven in free kick, he couldn’t hold it and Jadama forced it home from close range. Four minutes later, the Rams scored again when Kingsford slung in another free kick and Billy Munday met it with a strong header that gave Norman no chance.
Jack Paxman had a shot saved by Prall before Welling pulled one back shortly after the hour mark when Addy whipped in a cross towards a crowd scene at the far post and it appeared that Luke Allen got his head on it ahead of Lekan Majoyegbe to nod it home.

Five minutes later the Wings levelled when Oke-Williams knocked down another Addy cross and Jamie Reynolds burst through to fire home.
However, three minutes later the hosts went back ahead when Alfie Paxman had a shot cleared off the line, Joshua Ajayi recycled it, and Kingsford fired home from close range.
Again, Welling came back and Mert Apat’s overhead kick was kept out by a flying save by Prall then one more chance came there way when Halim Bangura got on the end of a deep cross but he couldn’t keep it down and it flew over from close range.

After eleven minutes of stoppage time, referee Michael Butcher called an end to proceedings and it is the Rams who await the draw for the fifth round.
