Two clubs playing two leagues apart last season meet when Punjab United host Cray Valley PM in an Isthmian League South East Division encounter.

At present, Punjab are in eighteenth place in the league table, having won three, drawn three and lost six. The Millers are five places higher, but have just two points more having also won three times combined with five draws and four defeats.
Last season, Chipie Sian’s Punjab team were plying the trade in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division and came up the hard way with play off victories away at Fisher and Rusthall, both of whom finished above them. Meanwhile, Cray suffered the heartbreak of relegation from the Isthmian League Premier Division by two points.
On Saturday, Punjab had a good day with a three-one victory at home to Crowborough Athletic. Emanuel Osei put them ahead in the twentieth minute, however, parity was restored three minutes before half time through a Rashaar Samuel-Smikle penalty. A minute later Osei was sent off and the hosts looked to be up against it.
They weren’t to be denied, though, and Harry Ottaway put them back ahead twenty minutes after the restart. Seven minutes remained when Roman Campbell scored from the spot to ensure they claimed three crucial points.
Meanwhile. Cray Valley were also enjoying a successful day. They travelled to Horley and, after a goal-less first half, they went on to claim a comfortable victory. Jack Kirby put the Millers ahead one minute into the second period. Chris Dickson scored a second with just under a quarter of an hour remaining, and Kirby rounded it off when he added his second and Cray’s third, three minutes later.
Both teams will be looking to complete back to back victories and the match in Gravesend should be well attended with plenty at stake.
