Sittingbourne welcome Beckenham Town to the Staxson Stadium, Woodstock on Saturday, with boss Reece Prestedge looking to continue his incredible start to the job.

Since returning to take over the Brickies, Prestedge has seen his side take nineteen points from a possible twenty-one with the undoubted highlight being last weekend’s mauling of Eastbourne Town where Joe Boachie helped himself to a hat-trick.
Speaking to KSN, the Brickies boss admitted, “Last weekend’s 5-0 win over Eastbourne was terrific – I think everything that we asked for happened and went our way.”
“I thought we looked solid defensively, we created chances and more importantly scored the goals that we needed to. I was impressed with Jamie in goal and delighted that he got a clean sheet en debut – I have known of him for a while and after we had a conversation, he has come in and I thought he had a great debut, and it was great to see Ben Swift getting half an hour.”
“He has been out of the game for some time and we know that we will have to manage his minutes properly and make sure he is ready, but we know that will be a couple of weeks still – I’m sure he will get there and be the player that he was previously.”
Beckenham travel to Swale on the back of a midweek trip to Jersey on Tuesday from which they returned with a good point.
“We know that Saturday will be a tough game as Beckenham have come off the back of a couple of wins,” Prestidge told us.
“They got a good draw at Jersey on Tuesday, so we have to go into the weekend with the same determination as we have done in every game since we came in – another home game and another three points!”
“Nothing changes in that department, but they will come here off the back of some good results, and we all know that momentum is big in football.”
“Jersey is a tough game, especially midweek with the flights etc, but I am sure that they will prepare correctly and it will be a good game.”
“I know that we only drew with them at Woodstock last year (indeed the last three games between the sides have ended level, including a 1-1 draw at Eden Park Avenue earlier this season).”
“But it is a different year and whilst I hear those superstitions, we just have to keep doing what we are doing and work our ethic and energy into it and hopefully get the result on Saturday.”
There have been comings and goings at the club since Prestedge returned, but it would appear, the new boss is close to the squad that he wants now and he admitted, “I am happy with the squad and where we are at currently – if there is someone who becomes available, there will obviously be conversations to be had, but right now we are quite comfortable.”
