Reece Prestedge will be looking for his tenth win as Sittingbourne boss in just eleven matches as Jersey Bulls visit the Staxson Stadium this weekend.

But the Brickies boss is only too well aware of the test that the Bulls will pose to the Brickies on Saturday lunchtime as he told KSN this week, he told us, “It would be nice to put a few more points between us as we have with sides we have played recently, and stamp a little bit more authority into the play-off places.
“I know it’s a cliche, but we are taking it game by game so the next game – Jersey at home – is the biggest one for us, and we will be looking to get maximum points from a home game.”
“I have seen videos of them, and they do play some nice football as they are new to the League, and we have done our homework on them, and we will have to make sure that we go into Saturday with the right mentality. I know we are at home, but we have to be focused what with the 1pm kick off as well so we will need to do our bits and not worry about them.”
Prestidge wasn’t involved with Sittingbourne when the Brickies drew 1-1 on the island back in October. “We’ve spoken to some of the players who were involved in that game, and they’ve passed on some insight as to what that game was like and we have options to do things differently to what we’ve done before, so it should be a good game!”
“Whyteleafe was a good result for us last weekend,” Prestedge continued, “but it’s nice to be back at home for the first time since the Saturday before Christmas after our Sheppey game was called off two weeks ago, so it will be nice to be back at Woodstock.”
Winning at fourth placed Whyteleafe last weekend followed ending 2025 with a road win at Merstham, who are just outside the play-off places, were just the latest wins in the new boss’s incredible start. “I am honestly a little bit annoyed that we keep conceding goals first but on the flip side, I have to be pleased with the character of the team to pull things back the way that they have.
We just need to stop giving opponents the lead – the goal at Merstham was a free kick which was a very good strike and Saturday’s goal was a very well worked goal, so you have to give them credit for that. But going behind first is something that we need to try and eradicate.”
“We will look to continue to keep doing what we have been doing, making sure we have the right mentality and hopefully continue our run.”
