Reece Prestedge has departed from his role as manager of Sittingbourne Football Club after losing 2-0 at home to Steyning on Saturday afternoon.

It has been a disappointing start to the season for The Brickies and the club have decided the time is right to make a managerial replacement.
The club issued a statement which reads:
“Sittingbourne FC can confirm that we have parted company with First Team Manager Reece Prestedge by mutual consent.”
“The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Reece for his hard work, dedication and commitment during his time in charge,”
“Having taken over midway through last season, following the departure of our previous manager, Reece guided the team to the play-offs for the third consecutive season, an achievement for which we are extremely grateful.”
“Despite a promising start to the current campaign, a lengthy injury list has disrupted the squad and hampered our progress in recent weeks.”
“Reece leaves with our appreciation for everything he has contributed to Sittingbourne FC, and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.”
“Thank you Reece and best wishes from everyone at Sittingbourne FC.”
Prestedge took to social media to confirm his departure and to thank the fans for his time at the club. He said:
“Just want to say a huge thank you to the players who gave me everything and the fans of Sittingbourne FC who have always been brilliant results weren’t good enough a lot of circumstances and things out of my control but ultimately its on me. I hold my head high and wish u the best.”
Meanwhile, Sittingbourne have confirmed a short term replacement for Prestedge with a short statement. It reads:
“Sittingbourne FC is pleased to announce Joe Anderson as interim manager, assisted by Godfrey Poku.”
“We wish them both every success whilst the club assesses our options.”
“We thank our supporters and look forward to seeing you at Broadbridge Heath on Saturday.”
