Points for Crees on BTCC return

Fans favourite Michael Crees was back in the points on his return to the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship last weekend.

Crees was back with Team Hard for the first time this season behind the wheel of their Cupra Leon having replaced Bobby Thompson in the summer break.

It wasn’t an easy weekend for the Kent racer as he looked to get back up to speed in the ultra competitive series, as well as getting used to a new car as he got behind the wheel for the first time at Croft.

He started race one from row eleven on the grid, and that is exactly where he would finish the race.

Race two he started from exactly the same spot on row eleven of the grid as well on Sunday, He would improve two positions during the race, finishing in 19th place.

The final race of the weekend saw him start from 19th on the grid and this time he showed his race craft as he cut his way through to finish just outside the top ten in 11th place.

It was a good solid points finish for the last race of the weekend and gives him something to build on next time out at Knockhill in Scotland.

Speaking after the weekend, Crees said: “A really solid start to life back in the BTCC. It’s great to be back and I’m loving being back with the team where it all started, they have come such a long way. It was always going to be tough jumping in the car with minimal running so to come away with points was fantastic and is a testament to how strong this package is and will be for me for the rest of the season.

“The team have been great; I have a really good crew on my car and I’m just happy I was able to reward them with a strong finish to the weekend. Let’s keep pushing at Knockhill!”
