Podmore leaves Kent for Glamorgan

Kent Cricket have confirmed that seamer Harry Podmore has signed for Glamorgan following the conclusion of the 2022 season.

Podmore joined Kent ahead of the 2018 season and made 74 appearances for the Club in all formats, taking 175 wickets & scoring 1,032 runs.

He received Kent Men’s Cap no. 218 at the end of the 2019 season after being named Men’s Bowler of the Year at the Spitfire Kent Cricket Awards.

Podmore hit memorable boundaries to seal victories away at Worcestershire Rapids in the 2018 One-Day Cup Semi-Final and at home to Lancashire in this year’s edition of the competition.

On leaving Kent for Glamorgan on a multi-year deal, Podmore said: “After a challenging couple of seasons, I have decided to leave Kent, and I do so with a heavy heart.”

“I have loved my time at the Club, and am proud to be a capped player. I will always cherish the memories of winning two trophies and competing well in Division One of the County Championship. I simply feel it is time for a fresh start.”

“I have nothing but praise for everybody at Kent. The Board and the office staff, the coaches and the support staff and, most of all, the players, my teammates, have always been incredibly kind and supportive, and I will always be grateful.”

“Lastly, I would like to thank the Kent members and supporters. It has felt to me that they have always had my back, on the tough days as well as the good days, and I will miss them. I hope they will understand.”
