Play-off requirements for Addicks
Play-off requirements for Addicks
Richard Cawley came up with an interesting stat in the SLP‎, 74 points has been enough for League One teams to make the play-offs in each of the last seven seasons.

‎Charlton are currently on 59 points, 15 points shy of the accepted number required to qualify for the end of season lottery. This 8 points more than they had after 34 games last season.
It does not look a big ask does it?  Five wins, or four wins and three draws, or three wins and six draws from the remaining twelve games would be good enough.
The games are split evenly, six at home, and six away, starting with Saturday’s trip to Doncaster.
After the Keepmoat, the Addicks will have to visit Bristol Rovers, Wycombe, Plymouth, Oxford and Gillingham, while The Valley will host Portsmouth, Burton, Bradford, Luton, Scunthorpe and Rochdale on the last day of the season.
Lee Bowyer’s team will have to suffer a loss of form of epic proportions for them not to comfortably finish in the top six.
Qualifying is one thing, but winning that vital promotion spot is another. At the moment it looks likely that Luton and Barnsley will fill the two automatic spots, leaving the likes of Portsmouth and Sunderland to join Charlton in the scrap for the last promotion berth.
‎Form, momentum and attitude will be major factors in determining which club will be plying their trade in the Championship next season.
