Pivotal weekend for Ray
Pivotal weekend for Ray

Bradley Ray has said that this weekend at Brands Hatch will be a pivotal one in the British Superbike Championship title race.

It is also the 30th anniversary of Yamaha’s involvement in the British Superbike series, and the pressure will be on for Ray who will appear on track in a special edition, heritage-inspired Yamaha R1 livery across all three races.

As the national series roars back to action this weekend, Ray and his McAMS Yamaha team carry strong momentum from last time out at Snetterton, where they secured their first race victory of the 2026 campaign, capping off the weekend with a second podium finish of the year in third place.

Continuing to ride the wheels off the Yamaha R1 and spearhead Yamaha’s effort in the series, the championship hopeful has his eyes fixed on fighting at the front of the pack during the visit to his local venue – keen to make a further statement of intent as the championship nears its halfway point.

Ray, hopeful for another strong weekend of battle, enjoyed a fruitful outing at Brands Hatch last year, where he secured his first win at the Grand Prix venue during the series’ earlier visit to the track, also picking up multiple podium finishes at the season opener last October. Ray and the team remain confident in their prospects as Brands Hatch approaches, feeling up for the fight and ready to answer any challenges.

Speaking ahead of his home round, Ray said: “I’m looking forward to getting back aboard the McAMS Yamaha R1 at Brands Hatch this weekend – it’s a local circuit for me, and one that I’ve always enjoyed racing at. I know within myself that I haven’t ever ridden as hard as I’m riding at the moment, we’re pushing so close to the limit every weekend to secure the results that we are, and with a comfortable feeling aboard the R1, I’m confident that we can do the same again this weekend.

“The Brands Hatch weekend will be a pivotal one for the championship, so we’ll aim for consistency at the top end of the field and bring home a solid set of results. We’re ready again to give it our all, and we’ve got all the tools we need to fight for wins and podiums.

“This weekend, we’ll also be running a special edition livery across the three races in celebration of 30 Years of BSB, which adds another element of excitement heading into the weekend. It’s going to be a big one!”
