An opening lap incident spoilt Jake Dixon’s weekend in the latest round of the Moto2 season from San Marino.

Jake qualified in the top ten and was looking to push forward as the lights went out on Sundays race. He got a decent start but a moment for another rider at Turn six forced him to lift up, run off track and rejoin in 15th.
The Dover riders then mounted a good comeback to sit 12th. However, Jake then started struggling with rear tyre wear in the closing laps and dropped to 16th as the chequered flag fell.
The weekend result sees Jake remain fifth in the championship standings with 152 points.

Speaking after the race, Dixon said: “I don’t really know what happened today. We’ve been fast all weekend, but today was a struggle.
“We had a bit of contact early on, which pushed us back a bit, but I just had no pace, so I was fighting a losing battle.
“We need to sit down and go over everything before Japan and try to be back at the front again.”
