A first corner incident on lap one cost Jake Dixon the opportunity for a good result at the latest round of the Moto2 season at Brno.

The Czech Republic hosted the latest round of the season and Dixon went into the round on a the back of a podium last time out.
Starting seventh on the grid, the rider from Dover had a good launch but was pushed wide at Turn one and then had another rider tag his rear tyre. That left him in a frustrating 13th at the end of lap one.
From there, the 29-year old didn’t have the pace to run at the front but still fought until the end and gained two places in the last three laps to finish 11th.
This result sees Jake drop one place to fifth place in the championship standings with 119 points.

Speaking after the weekend, Dixon said: “It wasn’t an ideal day. At corner one I was out wide and from that point on it was difficult to come back. I was 14th or 15th on lap one. Honestly, I didn’t have the rhythm to go forward.
“Unfortunately, we made a small change to the setting today but it didn’t have the effect we hoped it would. We’ve got to do better. We’ve got to do better. That’s all I can say on that. I’m looking forward to having a few weeks off now when we can recharge the batteries before coming back with fresh energy in August.”
