Notts County 2-2 Bromley

Bromley kept their National League play-off hopes alive with a hard earned point at Notts County on Saturday afternoon.

It could have been even better for Andy Woodman’s side as they had taken the first half lead against their rivals for a top seven spot, but had to settle for a point that could prove to be vital come the end of the campaign.

Tate Campbell denied Notts County a fourth straight win in the National League as his strike earned Bromley the draw at Meadow Lane.

The Magpies had fallen behind in the first half when Mark Ellis turned into his own net after Michael Cheek had headed a cross into the six-yard box.

But County came out all guns blazing after the break and levelled when Ruben Rodrigues crossed with the outside of his boot to tee up Kyle Wootton.

The Magpies then moved in front when Rodrigues guided in from close range after Calvin Miller had seen a header superbly saved by Mark Cousins.

The woodwork denied Jim O’Brien from putting Notts further in front when he cracked the post from 25 yards while Rodrigues also clattered the bar with an excellent free-kick.

However, Bromley levelled when substitute Campbell scored from close range after being left unmarked from a James Alabi cross.

The point sees Bromley end the weekend in 8th place in the National League, just outside the play-off places on goal difference.

Next up is a trip to Aldershot Town on Saturday 22nd before ending their league campaign at Hayes Lane against Notts County again.

Two wins and Bromley could just sneak that top seven place.
