New bid for Addicks
New bid for Addicks
The London Evening Standard exclusively broke the news on Tuesday morning that there has been‎ a fresh bid to buy Charlton.

The new bidders are headed by a former‎ banker with experience of top flight football, who is confident he can lead the club back up through the divisions.
The bid is thought to be £30million, and is for the entire club, including The Valley and the Sparrows Lane training complex.
Current owner, Roland Duchatelet, is keen to sever his links with the south London outfit, but will not drop the asking price from the figure he has in mind.
Bizarrely though, Duchatelet did suggest that the EFL should buy the club from him. ‎He offered to sell the club to them – though not The Valley or Sparrows Lane – for £1.
It seems unlikely that Duchatelet would accept £30million, but that may just be the group’s opening offer, with possible further payments based on promotion.
This appears to be the most serious bid to buy the club to date, and fans will anxiously await further developments.
