Nevill back in action

Following “one of the hardest days of my racing career”, Kent racing driver Alex Nevill is determined to finish the season on a high in the final round of the Britcar Trophy championship this Sunday at Donington Park.

Previously at Snetterton in September, Alex and his teammate Travis Coyne started the day positively with a third-place qualifying effort before technical issues with their Renault Clio Cup car resulted in the duo retiring from both races.

This setback ultimately took them out of championship contention and dropped them two places to fifth in the championship standings in the Clio class.

Since then, however, the Dragon Sport team has been relentless in their efforts to solve the issues, both with testing and extensive efforts in the workshop to rectify the car’s issues.

Their efforts leave Alex feeling ready to take on one last challenge in 2023, at a circuit where he has enjoyed success previously.

“Donington is a circuit I’ve always gone well at, I won my first two races there in my car racing debut and it was also where I scored my first podium in the pro class of the Mini Challenge Cooper Trophy which naturally leaves me feeling confident going into the weekend”, Alex explained.

“It’s been a tough season for Travis and I, but to their absolute credit the Dragon Sport team has never given up and I’m optimistic that we can have a better weekend this time out.”

The final round of the Britcar Trophy features two 50 minute races, starting at 12:10pm & 16:10pm respectively. Both races will be live-streamed via the following link on the British Automobile Racing Club’s YouTube channel. British Automobile Racing Club – YouTube
