National League fixtures announced

Days before the start of the EFL season, the new National League fixtures have finally been announced for the season that starts in early October.

But just to confuse matters even more, whilst the National League season begins on Saturday 3rd October, because the teams in the South start their FA Cup campaign that day, their League season doesn’t start until Tuesday 6th.

Following Ebbsfleet’s relegation on mathematical formula, the county have just Bromley and Dover Athletic in the National League this season, and they both start with difficult starts – Neil Smith takes his Bromley side to face relegated Macclesfield whilst Andy Hessenthaler’s Dover will welcome beaten Play Off finalists and FA Trophy finalists Notts County to Crabble, before just three days later the two sides meet at Hayes Lane – the return “derby” is on Saturday May 1st at Crabble.

The Christmas fixtures see both sides playing Sutton United and Dagenham & Redbridge – Boxing Day sees the Daggers heading for Crabble and Sutton at Bromley (the reverse fixtures are on January 2nd) – with Dover going to Sutton on December 28th whilst Bromley head for Dagenham.

Easter sees both sides home on Good Friday – Dover to Halifax and Bromley to Wealdstone – before both face long trips on Easter Monday with Hessenthaler taking his side to Chesterfield whilst Smith and his side go to Stockport.

On the final day – Saturday May 29th – see Bromley at home to Notts County whilst Dover face their longest trip of the season to Hartlepool.
