Muyeye commits future to Kent

Kent Cricket have announced that batsman Tawanda Muyeye has committed to the Club by signing a two-year contract extension, with an option of a third year.

He will now be a Kent cricketer until at least the end of the 2027 season.

The 24-year-old made his Kent debut back in 2021, and since then has shown exceptional potential as a power-hitting right-hander, scoring centuries in both four-day and T20 cricket for Kent.

Muyeye has made over 100 appearances for the county across all formats, scoring over 3,500 runs. He hit his first career T20 century against Essex at Chelmsford earlier last month, becoming the eighth Kent player to score a T20 hundred since 2003.

On committing his future to Kent, Muyeye said: “This Club is now my home, and I’m delighted to commit my future to Kent.

“Ever since I arrived here, I’ve been so grateful for the support that my teammates, coaches and the Kent supporters have given me.

“I’m determined to continue to develop as a player in a Kent shirt and put in more match-winning performances.”

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Simon Cook, said: “I’m delighted that Tawanda has extended his Kent contract.

“He’s an outstanding talent with the mindset and work ethic that aligns with where we are going as a Club.

“His commitment to continuous improvement and desire to compete at the highest level will be a significant asset to the Club going forward.”
