Mixed Weekend in the Mini Challenge
Mixed Weekend in the Mini Challenge

It was very much a mixed weekend for Kent racing drivers in the Mini Challenge last weekend.

Defending Champion Tom Ovenden came away from Snetterton with a best result of second place and that came in the final race of the weekend on Sunday.

He finished in fourth place in the opening race of the weekend, before following that up with another solid top ten finish in race two, as he crossed the line in sixth place.

He heads into the next round at Oulton Park in two weeks time with a 26 point lead in the championship.

Meanwhile fellow Kent racer Nathan Edwards bagged himself a trio of ten finishes although it could have been even better than that for him.

In the opening race of the weekend Edwards was having an excellent battle with Ovenden and Alex Solley, Edwards tried to make a move for position going into turn one.

With him having taken the outside line, the pair clashed going through Riches which allowed Tom Ovenden to nip through from sixth to fourth in one go.

Post-race however, Edwards was handed a penalty for the clash with Solley, which moved Hickton and Solley up a position and dropped Edwards back to seventh.
