Milton Keynes Dons 4-1 Bromley

Bromley slipped to another disappointing League One defeat on Tuesday night as they went down 4-1 away to Milton Keynes Dons.

Byron Webster made one change to his starting line up from his first game with Omar Sowunmi coming in for Jodie Jones and they remained in a 3-5-2 formation.

The game got off to a quick pace start with MK Dons doing most of the pressing. Nombe put one chance over and then was denied by the feet of Grant Smith when one on one soon after.

Goode then headed over from the resulting corner and Smith then made a great reaction save from a deflected free kick. Bromley’s first chance came on 28 minutes when Mitchell Pinnock’s free kick found George Saville, but he blazed over.

Fullah was next to be off target for The Dons, quickly followed by Nombe who was again denied by Smith. MK eventually took the lead on 40 minutes when a corner was punched out to the edge of the area by Smith, but Gilbey deftly chipped the ball back into the six yard box for Collins to convert with a dinked effort that left The Ravens defence flat footed.

Bromley rallied from there, Michael Cheek set up Will Hondermarck who had a shot saved by Dennis and then in first half injury time The Ravens equalised when Pinnock’s free kick was deflected into the net to make it 1-1 at the break.

The second half started with Hondermarck going close, before The Dons started to dominate again. Silvera hit the foot of the post with a low drive and Nombe hit the side netting before they took the lead on 62 minutes, just after Webster had made two more attacking changes.

Sowunmi was caught in possession by Collins who then cut into the box and his powerful shot deflected past Smith for 2-1. Both sides had good spells of pressure from there, but it was the home team who made the vital break through on 71 minutes when Wiles sent in a great cross for Collins to head home his second goal of the night.

It was another cheap turnover that lead to the final goal eight minutes later when Nicke Kabamba lost the ball and Collins cut back a cross for Goode to convert from 12 yards out.

Collins almost had his hattrick late on, but his curling effort just went over and Goode then headed over. The final chance of the game did fall to Bromley, but Pinnock’s low shot was well saved by Dennis and the match ended 4-1 to Milton Keynes.

Bromley now travel to bottom of the table Wigan Athletic on Saturday in was looks like a vital game for both sides even at this stage.
