Midweek fixtures added for Addicks
Midweek fixtures added for Addicks
The results of Second Round of the FA Cup‎ have added another two midweek fixtures for Charlton’s travelling faithful to attend.

The goalless draw The Valley sends the Addicks to Milton Keynes for a replay next week. An easy journey for most, but an extra fixture in an already busy December.
Rochdale’s 2-0 win at Carlisle means Charlton’s trip to Spotland on 7 January will be postponed. Victory in the replay at Milton Keynes would see the Addicks also involved in a Third Round tie on the first weekend in January. Defeat would mean a blank Saturday for Karl Robinson’s team.
Bolton secured a hard fought 2-1 win over Sheffield United at the Macron on Sunday. If the Trotters progress further in the competition, Charlton’s trip to Bolton on 28 January would have to be rescheduled.
Robinson explained how the players had reacted to him after his first week at the club:

“It’s hard, obviously, because maybe my ways are completely different to what they’re used to, but people have seen that there is a plan and a developmental stage where we can move forward from.

“The previous manager settled things down here and now it’s time for me to come in. What’s gone before has happened and now it’s time for us to move forward.

“I’m really excited by the challenge and want to get on the front foot as you saw in the second half.

“We were at home at The Valley today. This place is for front-foot, aggressive football,”‎ said the new gaffer.
The Third Round draw will take place at 7.00pm on Monday evening. The Addicks and Milton Keynes will be ball number 62 in the draw.
