Mekki makes Ebbsfleet move

It’s three signings in three days as Ebbsfleet United this afternoon can announce the signing of midfielder Adam Mekki from Bromley on loan until the end of this season.

The 28-year-old left winger is a former Reading youth who first signed professionally with Aldershot Town in 2009, playing in League Two for them across four years until brief spells at Barnet and Dover Athletic.

He signed for Tranmere Rovers in summer 2015 and played for two seasons at Prenton Park, helping Rovers to runners-up spot in the National League in 2016/17.

Mekki was snapped up by Neil Smith at Bromley in June 2017, featuring 37 times in the league for the Ravens in his first campaign and playing alongside his new Fleet teammates Frankie Sutherland and David Gregory at Wembley in the 2018 FA Trophy Final, where he was named man of the match.

Last season his appearances were curtailed by a serious injury but he made his return in August in Bromley’s 3-1 win over the Fleet. A hard-working, tricky and popular player at Hayes Lane, he has featured 17 times for the promotion-chasing Ravens this season, most recently in their Boxing Day clash at Dover.

Adam will wear the No.27 shirt but is cup-tied and so will not be available for Saturday’s Buildbase FA Trophy game versus King’s Lynn Town.
