The Invicta Dynamos have announced that 19 year old blue liner Adam McNicoll played his last game for the club on Sunday.Adam mcNicoll4

The skater is leaving the Mos to return home having struggled to secure regular work and consistent income in Kent.

Adam McNicoll spent 2012/13 across the pond with the Orangeville Americans in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League before returning to these shores and his home in Scotland come the close of the campaign.

In the summer he was then tempted south and he arrived at the Dynamos looking to make a name for himself in the NIHL South Division 1.

However, after 12 appearances and 1 goal with the team, the blue liner has now decided on a return home having struggled to find regular work and so a reliable income away from hockey.

Speaking on the loss of Adam McNicoll, Head Coach Kevin Parrish revealed that he was disappointed to lose a skater of the blue liner’s abilities but that he understood the reasons behind the decision.

Parrish said, “Adam came down from Scotland in the summer as a bit of an unknown quantity and soon put any critics in their place with a string of good performances once the season got underway.”

“Regrettably he has struggled to secure regular income since the switch and so he now will be returning home”.

The Head Coach continued to add, “I am gutted to be losing Adam from our roster and, as a club, we have tried all possible avenues to keep him with us but ultimately they have been unsuccessful.”

“Despite this I’d personally like to thank him for his efforts whilst with us, wish him all the best for the future and remind him that the door at the Dynamos is never closed”.

Following the news that Adam McNicoll has now parted with the club, the Invicta Dynamos roster has dropped to 16 ahead of this weekend’s games in Brixton against Streatham and here in Gillingham versus Bracknell.

When asked if he was now back in the hunt to bolster that number Head Coach Kevin Parrish said, “I will be looking to get another guy in but it’s equally important to get the right guy in.”

“We have a great team spirit here at the Silver Blades this season and it’s crucial to keep that going with the right sort of player and not just another body.”

“Hopefully we will have news of a replacement in the near future but in the meantime the focus will be on keeping our good run going this Saturday and Sunday”.
