McKerr returns to Kent on loan

Kent Cricket have confirmed that right-arm fast bowler Conor McKerr will re-join the Club on loan for its next two LV= Insurance County Championship matches.

The 25-year-old joined the county for a two-match loan spell from Surrey last season, and is available for Kent’s match with Warwickshire beginning this Thursday.

The return of McKerr will come as a huge boost to a Kent attack that lost Grant Stewart to injury in their opening County Championship match of the season against Northamptonshire at Canterbury.

McKerr is expected to take his place in the side for the game at Edgbaston with Nathan Gilchrist still not fully fit and available, but is playing for the Kent Second XI this week and could be available in the next week or two.

Kent won their opening game of the season by seven wickets with Matt Quinn and Michael Hogan opening the bowling with the pair expected to do the same this week.

Backed up by the likes of Hamid Qadri, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Joe Denly, Jack Leaning and Joey Evison, Kent have plenty of bowling options and are expected to have McKerr fill in for Stewart in the only change for the game against Warwickshire.
