Midfielder Robbie McKenzie is the second player this afternoon to commit his future to Gillingham.

McKenzie follows goalkeeper Glenn Morris in agreeing a new deal at Priestfield after a decent season with The Gills.
The 26 year old has been an almost ever present for The Gills in this past season and captained the side in the final few games of the campaign with regular skipper Armani Little injured.
A real goal threat as well, McKenzie has become one of the first names on the Gillingham teamsheet and can play in a variety of roles.
Manager Gareth Ainsworth has made it known that he really likes McKenzie in his side as he adds real balance and energy to the Gillingham midfield.
The two year deal will see McKenzie stay at the club at least until the end of the 2026/27 season with a view to extending the deal.
On signing his contract, Robbie said: “I am pleased to get it done. I am really happy here, I am settled and I feel like the future is going to be bright so I wanted to be a part of that.”
He won the Players’ Player of the Year at our recent end of season awards dinner, and also won “Goal of the Season” for his superb strike away at Walsall.
During the 2024/25 campaign he made 40 appearances, scoring six times.
First arriving at the Gills in the summer of 2020, in total McKenzie has made 193 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals.
