Sittingbourne return to League action on Saturday as they welcome Beckenham Town to the Staxson Stadium as Ryan Maxwell’s side look to continue their perfect home League record and keep the pressure up on leaders Ramsgate.

Talking to KSN ahead of the game, the Brickies boss told us, “We’re all looking forward to getting back to our Woodstock Fortress, it couldn’t come quickly enough after three big games in eight days and we can’t really grumble with two wins and a draw.”

“It’s been an absolutely incredible week or so for everyone involved with the club, and I cannot praise the boys enough, they really are a great bunch of lads that I manage at this club and what an incredible bunch of supporters you all are! We have a fantastic club and I love the place and am so happy for everybody.”

Saturday will also see the club begin the selling of tickets for their ISUZU FA Trophy Quarter Final with Aldershot Town to be played at Woodstock with a 12.30 kick off on March 1.

Allowing himself one comment on the game, Maxwell told us, “It’s going to be fantastic to have Round Six of the Trophy played here in a few weeks’ time.

“If you had heard that there would be a Quarter Final of the FA Trophy this season back in the summer you would have thought that you were a bit drunk, but the bottom line is that it is here! I’m so pleased for so many people behind the scenes – Maurice (Dunk, the Brickies Chairman) and many, many others – absolutely delighted for everybody!”

Two of the heroes that got the Brickies over the line in their recent games are in line to make their Woodstock debuts this weekend in keeper Rico Rees and Southend goal hero, Anthony Church.

“Some new faces for our home support this weekend. They have both made a great start to their career here at Sittingbourne and long may that continue for sure, they are both great additions to our squad as they both make us stronger for various reasons and I am delighted to get both permanently.”

“But it’s back to the “bread and butter” Saturday at Woodstock and we know just how tough Beckenham will be for us to overcome, they are a decent side, and we are well informed on them. We know their players and I am sure it’s going to be a good game, it’s a game that I thrive on and am really looking forward to it!”

“Hopefully after taking nearly a thousand to Southend, we might get a good healthy crowd Saturday – would it nice if all those who went to Roots Hall came wouldn’t it?”

“Our fans spent a lot of their money at Southend, and I understand that, as a family man myself, but to see so many of them at Erith on Tuesday and then Steyning last weekend was incredible and fantastic and I cannot thank them all enough.”
