Masters GT Trophy title for Reade
Masters GT Trophy title for Reade

Luke Reade emerged from the Silverstone festival as the Masters GT Trophy Champion for 2025.

As always with Reade the path to the title was not straightforward across the weekend. Knowing a second place finish in race two would seal the GT3 title, it was definitely an eventful race that saw Reade cross the line to take that title.

Here he brings us right up-to-date with his race weekend, he said: “Race one kicked off, and Neil set the tone with a seriously strong stint. I took over from the pit lane, sitting in 30th, knowing it was time to get my elbows out.

“And let me tell you — the racing didn’t disappoint. I found myself locked in an epic scrap with none other than Jake Hill in a Porsche RSR GT3. But after a proper battle, I came out ahead, crossing the line in 21st, a solid climb through the field.

“The festival itself? Absolute vibes. Think street food, live gigs, merch stalls, and that electric buzz only a British motorsport crowd can bring.

“Now here’s where things got serious — Race Two was for the championship.

The maths was simple: finish second or better, and we’d seal our first GT3 title. Easy, right? Well…

“Neil handed me the car in fourth place. Great stint again from him – cool, clean, and clinical. But that left me with a mission: chase down the Ferrari ahead for P2.

“I quickly dispatched the Porsche and set out closing down the Ferrari, lap by lap I could see myself closing in. With a handful of laps to go we manged to sneak by the Ferrari for second. That was enough points to secure the championship. The rest would be easy right?

“I pushed, I prayed the tyres would hold – and then, of course, they didn’t. Last lap. Bang. Puncture. You couldn’t write it.

“Limping, sliding, probably swearing a little – I somehow brought the Lambo home in second, tyre shredded, adrenaline maxed out. And just like that… GT3 Champions.

“It’s our first GT3 title, and what a way to do it, through the chaos, the challenge, and a whole lot of tyre rubber left behind.

“Massive shoutout to my sponsors who made this journey possible, and to everyone who came out to Silverstone and made the weekend feel more like a party than a pressure cooker.”
