Maidstone win Boys Plate Final

Two second half goals were enough for Maidstone as they were victorious in the Kent U13 Boys Plate Final.

Reuben Jones and Liam Wilson scored in the second half to seal the victory after Ben Taylor had got Kings Hill level going in at half time.

Kings Hill had a massive chance to go ahead early on when Will Seage made a run down the left hand side and was able to get the ball into the box. The ball landed at the feet of Louis Miles who looked to have an easy tap in, but a brilliant last ditch challenge from the Maidstone centre back stopped an almost certain goal.

Kings Hill were made to pay for that miss almost instantly as Maidstone went ahead through an own goal, although it was claimed by Jayson Afusi after he took the initial shot.

Kings Hill equalised midway through the first half after a scramble in the box following a corner found its way to Ben Taylor who was able to knock the ball home.

Early in the second half, Maidstone were back infront through Jones who shot from the edge of the box with the ball going across goal and into the far corner.

As the second half went on, Kings Hill thought they were level, but their goal was disallowed for offside.

Maidstone responded quickly and sealed the victory through Wilson as he fired home to seal the victory for The Stones.
