Maidstone United v Bromley preview

There is another Kent derby in the National League on Saturday afternoon when Bromley make the short trip across the county to face Maidstone Utd in a game both sides need to win to move away from the bottom four.

The Ravens managed to take a point from their game with Halifax last weekend despite missing several players through injury, illness and suspension and could have taken all three but for a last minute equaliser from The Shaymen.

The result left Bromley on 14 points from as many games, sitting in seventeenth, three points clear of the relegation zone.

Manager Neil Smith will be happy to have Adam Mekki and Frankie Raymond back from suspension and will also hope to have some of his players back from injury for the visit to The Gallager Stadium.

At the end of the game against Halifax the extensive list included Omar Bugeil, Sam Wood, Roger Johnson, Jake Goodman, Alan Dunne, Jack Goddard and David Gregory!

The Stones have the same record as Bromley and sit one place below them on goal difference, but go into the game on a fine run form following the arrival of manager Harry Wheeler unbeaten in three.

The new manager has brought in a number of new faces to the squad and loaned out others as he looks to build a team that will comfortably survive in The National League.

When the teams met at The Gallagher last season in October, Bromley won 2-0 in the league, but lost in the Kent Senior Cup semi final 2-1 in March. The Ravens having won there in the previous season also.

This should be another tight, well contested Kent derby as the sides look to continue their revivals.
