Maidstone United 1-1 Met Police

Maidstone’s home form continues to baffle them as they dropped two points to the improving Police side.Maidstone United 2

The game was only 30 seconds old when Alex Flisher’s long throw into the area found Frannie Collin & his back header forced Stuart Searle to save at his post.

In the 2nd minute Fabio Saraiva saw his free kick from 20 yards tipped over the bar by Searle. Met Police had their first half chance in the 10th minute when a corner was half cleared to Ricardo Joseph whose half volley whistled past the post.

Five minutes later Jack Parkinson’s long diagonal ball was headed clear but only to Tom Mills whose shot from 25 yards beat Searle but hit the top of the crossbar.

Another chance came in the 21st minute when Charlie Robertson’s cross caused a bit of confusion & was cleared to Robertson who from 5 yards on the angle saw his shot saved by Searle for a corner.

As the game got close to half time Maidstone had a couple more chances when in the 41st minute a ball into the area was allowed to bounce around & ended up at Collin’s feet & his shot whistled past the post & in the very last seconds Flisher on the left cut inside & his shot flew across the goal.

The second half saw the Police come out with more urgency & in the 47th minute Matt Pattison running across the 18 yards box saw his shot go over the bar.

Maidstone hit back in the 50th minute when Flisher’s long throw to the back post found Robertson & his shot came back of the bar/crossbar.

Four minutes later Maidstone took the lead when a corner into the area saw Jordan Hibbert foul Robertson & a penalty was given without too many complaints from the Police, up stepped Collin who shot into the bottom left hand corner beating Searle easily.

The lead lasted eight minutes when Bradley Hudson-Odol received the ball on the left got the by-line before crossing to the back post for Charlie Collins whose header proved too much for Lee Worgan who could only push it into the net.

Maidstone was shocked by this but the Police deserved it & in the 74th minute Robertson to Collin in the area & his shot was deflected for a corner.

As the game drew to a close the Police had two wonderful chances to take all three points when in the 88th minute Hudson-Odol on the left crossed to the back post for Pattinson whose volley hit the side netting & then two minutes into added on time Pattinson found himself in the area on his own but his shot was blocked by Worgan’s leg but came out to Hudson-Odol but from ten yards with the goal at his mercy he shot over the bar.
