Macleod happy to be back at Lydden Hill

Don Macleod will be back on “home territory” when he competes in the latest round of this year’s Swift Rallycross Championship at Lydden Hill Circuit on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Deal-based Donmac Racing team driver said: “I love racing at Lydden Hill for various reasons. It’s the first circuit I raced at and also the place where I have achieved my best-ever result, a fourth-place finish.  But more importantly it’s the place where my friends have the chance to turn up and witness the excitement of rallycross and it’s great to see everyone in the paddock, where young and old can get up close and personal with the sport I love. “

Macleod reached the semi-finals in his last outing at Croft Circuit and added: “After the horrendous weather at Croft, where it was akin to monsoon rains, we hope that better weather will attract a large crowd at Lydden.

“I was very pleased with my performance in the heats at Croft and, although I didn’t reach the final,  I was just happy to get away from the circuit with the car in one piece. And now, with the season coming to an end in  the next couple of months, I’m hoping that with some good driving and a little bit of luck I can get on to the podium somewhere.”
