With Dan making the move from Caterham’s to the Tin Tops it marks another new challenge in his short motor racing career to date.

Speaking to Kent Sports News ahead of the season an enthusiastic, Livingstone said: “I’m really excited for this year for a couple of reasons, firstly because I love racing and can’t wait to get out there competing in hopefully what is a competitive series.

“Secondly because I’m excited to see how I will get on racing a front wheel drive car opposed to driving a Caterham like I did in 2013. Round 1 is at Silverstone and I couldn’t think of a better place to start the year off.”

The Clio is ready to rock and roll and does look impressive and Dan has been busy in the off season preparing the car for this weekend’s racing.

He added: “I have been extremely busy preparing the Clio for this year. Hopefully it will be reliable and give me a good foundation to start the year with. A local company called Your Graphics designed the graphics on the car and I think they have done an amazing job.

“Hopefully it will stand out on the track so everybody will know it’s me. The car is all ready for Silverstone this weekend, I will be testing all day on the Friday and then Qualifying/Two races on the Saturday.”Dan Livingstone10

Dan has only been able to get one test session under his belt ahead of the season and he is being realistic about the opening races of the season.

“Unfortunately I have only been able to test once before the start of this year. I’ve had around 2 hour’s seat time in the car. Ideally it would have been nice to have the funding to test more but hopefully I can get more comfortable in the car on the test day at Silverstone and go from there.

“My aim going into any race weekend is to win but with the lack of seat time I have to be realistic. My aim for this weekend is to hopefully be in the Top 10 and to finish both races. I will take the weekend lap by lap and see how it goes.”

This is the first season racing in Tin Tops for Dan and it is a whole new experience for him but one he is hoping he can use his successful first season in racing to his advantage this campaign.

He said: “At the moment I can’t really say how I will fare this year. I hope that I can be competitive in the Clio Series and be pushing for race wins but only time will tell with this.

“After a successful first year (2013) of racing in Caterham’s with 3 podiums I aim to use what I learnt last year and push for some good results.”
