Gillingham have on Friday lunchtime announced their second summer signing as Armani Little joins the club from AFC Wimbledon.

Armani is a midfielder who likes to get on the ball and work hard, he has four goals from his 44 games last season, he initially joined Wimbledon on loan before making the move permanent last summer. He was offered a new contract but turned it down in favour of a move to ME7.

The 27-year-old becomes new manager Mark Bonner’s second signing of the club and counts Oxford United, Torquay United and Forest Green Rovers as his previous clubs. Little was unveiled by Gills Managing Director Joe Comper along with the clubs new third kit in Gillingham High Street this lunchtime.

Speaking about joining the Gills, Armani told the club website: “I am really pleased to be here and can’t wait to get going. I like to get on the ball and hopefully I can add a few goals.”

Bonner was pleased to get his man, he said: “Armani is an excellent addition to our midfield. A tenacious, all energy player who plays with personality. He will give us good balance and handles the ball well with a good passing range. He has a character that everyone will warm to and will help us become the team we want to be.”

Little is one of five players in League two that last season who won more than 70 tackles and made more than 50 interceptions, so he should add some much needed control in the centre of midfield.
