Dartford’s racing brothers Tyler and Brett Lidsey had an excellent weekend in the latest round of the Michelin Clio Cup Series last weekend.Lidsey Brothers - Croft

Croft in North Yorkshire played host to the latest round of the season that saw Tyler claim a double victory in the Road series. Brother Brett finished on the podium in race two, in doing so securing his fourth podium of the season.

Competing for the 20Ten Racing squad, delivered some excellent performances across the weekend in rounds six and seven with Tyler, in particular, grabbing the headlines.

Securing his maiden overall Road Series race win in round six after a last lap pass – his first outright success in car racing – the rookie driver added another victory in round seven, seeing off experienced rival Nic Harrison (Burton-on-Trent) on each occasion. Naturally, with outright victory he also took a pair of Sport Class wins too.Tyler Lidsey - Croft

Reflecting on his maiden win, Tyler said: “It was an epic race. Halfway through I decided to focus on my lines instead of on Nic’s car and eventually it came to me on the last lap. It’s definitely a breakthrough and shows I can do it, shows I can run with the Road Series pack at the front.”

For Brett, round seven was the highlight with a superb drive to second place, from sixth on the grid, which provided good cheer after he had to settle for 10th in the earlier contest following an enforced wheel change which was caused by a puncture.

Giving his thoughts after the weekend, Brett said: “The podium makes up for the first race where I got a puncture.I got such a good start to race two, one of the best of the year for me. I went round the outside at Turn One and then I was third. I’m really happy with P2, it’s a great result”Brett Lidsey - Croft

There is now just a fortnight to wait until rounds eight and nine of the season take place on home ground for the Lidsey brothers, Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in Kent, over the weekend 25th/26th July.
