Lewisham Borough vs Forest Hill Park – Preview

Southern Counties East Football League First Division football returns to the Ladywell Stadium on Wednesday evening when Lewisham Borough entertain Forest Hill Park.

Both of the clubs use the stadium but due to it being used primarily for athletics, football cannot start until September. Forest Hill played their first league game at Ladywell on Saturday, beating Canterbury one-nil courtesy of a goal by veteran striker Gavin Tomlin. Their three previous games were on the road starting with a four-one win at Rochester, followed by a four-nil win at Greenways and then a one-nil defeat at AFC Whyteleafe.

Lloyd Davis’ Lewisham team have a similar away record with two wins and one defeat. They started with a four-one victory at Meridian VP which was followed by a four-three win at Croydon. Their first defeat was on Saturday when they went down one-nil to an eighty-third minute goal at Rochester United.

Bragging rights are at stake for the ground sharers, and with both attacks being potent, it could be an entertaining match.
