Lewisham Borough v Bermondsey Town prevew

Southern Counties East Football League First Division football returns to the Ladywell Stadium on Wednesday evening when Lewisham Borough entertain Bermondsey Town.

Eleventh placed Boro were looking for a top half finish when going eight games unbeaten during February and early March but three defeats in their last four games have made that ambition tougher.

However, should they win their two remaining matches they could still finish as high as seventh.

Their last match, on Saturday ended in a two-nil home defeat to play-off hopefuls Faversham Strike Force. A goal in each half by Tom Barton ensured victory for the visitors.

It has been a tougher season for Bermondsey who are well adrift at the foot of the table in their first season at the level. They have picked up just nine points all season, and have lost six on the spin since their last win at AFC Whyteleafe in mid-February.

On Saturday they lost by the only goal at home to Croydon, going down to a first half injury time own goal.

When the two teams met at the St Pauls Sports Ground back in October, Lewisham came away with a five-nil victory. Sineen Sineen claimed a first half brace, and Martin-Emmanuel Sontan added a third before half-time.

There was just over fifteen minutes left when Reon Sailes made it four and Adekunle Adeyinka finished the scoring three minutes later.
