Midfielder, Regan Charles-Cook, and defender-cum-midfielder, Ezri Konsa, also signed new long term deals.

Charles-Cook made his first team bow as a second-half substitute against Hull in August, but the 18-year-old Lewisham born midfielder subsequently picked up an injury.

He has recently returned to action and will now be pushing for a first team start.

Ezri Konsa is a central defender who is also adept at playing in midfield. Konsa is another 18-year-old, and has yet to break into the first team.

Ademola Lookman and his advisers have been talking to the club this week about a possible new deal. The signs are encouraging, Lookman is believed to be keen to extend his stay at The Valley.

Reza Ghoochannejhad’s deal expires in the summer. The Iranian has turned things round of recent times, and he could be could also be offered a new deal.

Like Lookman and recent arrival, Ricardo Vaz Te, Ghoochannejhad is blessed with pace, a valuable asset at Championship level.
