Kent Eagles will try again to complete their National Development Trophy campaign this evening after heavy rain frustrated attempts to fulfil their intended Sunday fixture at the Hydroscand Arena home of the Leicester Fox Cubs.

The match had previously been shifted from an early afternoon start time to 7.30p.m. to accommodate Middlesborough’s rescheduled National Development League match up against the Belle Vue Colts (that meeting being prioritised due to the set up of respective League structure), a contest that also required the involvement in some way of the entire Leicester team.
Well, that meeting just about made it to a conclusion despite being rain affected but the elements in the East Midlands weren’t nearly so kind and with rain already falling and the local forecast showing no sign of any let-up, the decision to postpone the evening event was made just ahead of what was the originally intended start time.
With the end of October cut off now looming large and with that a rapidly closing window of opportunity to get all meetings completed the two teams must try again so much so that the announcement for Wednesday has swiftly been made.
Leicester have the double dilemma that their NDL team, the Lion Cubs, still have a match outstanding so their fixture against the Belle Vue Colts is now intended to form the first part of the double header (with a 7.00 p.m. start time), the Leicester Fox Cubs versus the Kent Eagles following on at 8.30 p.m.
Reflecting on the Sunday postponement and commenting on the forthcoming restaging Kent Team Manager David Graveling stated ‘After a day of cancellation and a couple of rearranging we have possibly rung every available rider to guest on Wednesday, but big thanks to Connor Coles and Dylan Huthwaite for accepting, let’s hope the weather holds and we get 43-points’.
