Lee primed for Gillingham return

Gillingham midfielder Charlie Lee is set for a return to action this weekend against Swindon Town after coming through a behind closed doors game.

The 25 year old former Peterborough man played forty five minutes alongside Simon King in the heart of defence as he makes his comeback from injury that has seen him miss the last four games.

In that time, Gillingham have won just the once and seen their play-off hopes all but fade taking just five points out of a possible twelve.

With the Swindon Town game set to go ahead at Priestfield on Saturday as the dispute between Gillingham Football Club and Kent Police set to be resolved, Lee could well come back into the reckoning for a place in the starting eleven.

Lee wasn’t the only one to be making a return from injury in the game against a Brighton Development XI on Monday afternoon with Ross Flitney taking his place back in goal after missing the past two and a half months.

Simon King and Jack Evans played the full ninety minutes, whilst Danny Spiller played the first half as the Brighton side came out 1-0 winners.
