Jake Dixon used his debut weekend in the World Superbike Championship as very much a learning weekend.

Having taken part in race one on Saturday, after free practice one on Sunday morning the decision was made that he wouldn’t take part in the remainder of the weekend.
A sensible call with wrist pain and having just returned to riding the Honda at Motorland Aragón. It meant that he started to get a feel for the bike and also where he is at in terms of his comeback.
He had a crash in FP1 on Friday but was declared fit to race, and took to the track in the opening race of the weekend, finishing in 16th place, just one place outside of the points positions.
As a result, Dixon returned home to focus on rest and physiotherapy, with the aim of being fully prepared for the upcoming Italian round.

Speaking after the weekend, Dixon said: “Unfortunately, I’m not able to race today due to being so fatigued after returning from the wrist injury. I tried in the warm-up, but I didn’t feel that I had the strength to continue.
“The best thing to do now is to head home, recover, and try to get stronger for Misano and take another step. But I’m happy with how the weekend went and want to say thanks to the team.
“I’m also sorry because obviously I want to be out there racing for them, but I think the safest option is to keep focusing on my recovery and try to come back stronger in Misano.”
