The Kent CTA Fire Kings will be aiming to register their first points in this year’s National Trophy competition on Monday night.Kent Kings22

They’ll be looking to impress when the Leicester Young Lions, a younger version of the club’s Elite League operation, pay their first ever visit to Central Park and they’ll arrive looking to complete the double as it were, having won 57-38 on their own circuit back at the beginning of April.

They’ve also defeated Stoke at home in the competition which they’ve entered this year as they explore the possibility of maybe tracking a team in the 2015 National League but this year winning the National Trophy is what they’ve set their sights on.

Tonight’s clash at Central Park, which gets underway at the usual start time of 6.30pm, is their first away match in the competition and they have named a powerful looking septet as they look to make it three wins out of three.

Riders to look out for are their guest Nathan Greaves replacing usual No.1 Oliver Greenwood who’s currently sidelined with a broken collarbone, and both Max Clegg and James Sargeant who both have Elite League places this year through the Fast Track Draft system.

As for ourselves, well it’s that system that means we’re without Ben Morley (riding for Lakeside Hammers at Belle Vue) but his replacement Ben Hopwood showed his mettle by scoring 8 (paid 9) from four rides whist guesting for us as we tonked Coventry here last week.

It promises to be another cracking match at Central Park and one not to be missed!
