Chatham Town Women announced the surprising news that newly appointed co-manager Jess King has departed the club.

King has left the Chats before the start of the season, to take up a full time coaching position.
A statement from the club said: “While we are naturally disappointed to see Jess move on, this is an opportunity that supports her long-term coaching ambitions and progression within the game.
“Everyone at the club is incredibly proud of what she has achieved during her time at Chatham Town Women, both on and off the pitch, and we fully understand her decision.
“Over the past two seasons, Jess has played a huge part in the continued growth of the club. Her dedication, professionalism and passion have helped create unforgettable memories, including our historic FA Cup run, and she leaves with the gratitude and respect of everyone connected with Chatham Town Women FC.
“Keith has given Jess his full support throughout the process, and we would like to place on record our sincere thanks for everything she has contributed. We wish Jess nothing but every success in the next chapter of her coaching journey.
“Preparations for the 2026/27 season continue as planned, with Keith leading the team as First Team Manager. Our focus remains firmly on the season ahead as we continue to build on the progress made in recent years.”
