Gillingham have this afternoon announced that Nelson Khumbeni will leave the club on loan.

He has joined National League side Eastleigh on loan for the season.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who joined the Gills in January of 2025, could make his debut in this Saturday’s National League opener against Gateshead.

He teams up with Gills legend, Vince Bartram, who is the Goalkeeping Coach at the Silverlake Stadium.

Khumbeni, formerly of Accrington and Morecambe, has made 32 appearances for the Gills in total with two assists. He scored in last Friday’s pre-season victory at Ebbsfleet United.
