Kent’s Non League Midweek Preview
Kent’s Non League Midweek Preview

It’s a busy midweek for our clubs in both league and Trophy replays…

Steve Lovell takes his Gillingham side to the Memorial Ground in Bristol to face a Rovers side who sit one point and two places below the Gills and currently occupy the last relegation place.

That said, both sides go into tonight on the back of 3-1 weekend defeats. It’s too early in the season to call it a relegation six pointer, but there is no doubt that victory would see the Gills give themselves some breathing space between themselves and the bottom of the table as they go into the weekend’s FA Cup tie at Slough Town.

Dartford will be looking to make the First Round of the Buildbase FA Trophy and set up a home tie with Dorchester Town.

To do that, Jamie Coyle’s and Adam Flanagan’s charges have to get past Eastbourne Borough at Princes Park after the original tie at the weekend was drawn.

It’s a busy night in the National League with all four of our sides in action, but only Maidstone United are at home.

Harry Wheeler will be looking for a response from is side as they welcome Eastleigh to the Gallagher after the Stones slipped into the bottom four after their 5-2 defeat at Havant on Saturday.

Eastleigh though are one of the form sides in the division with just one defeat in twelve and that along with Saturday’s FA Cup tie with Oldham Athletic looming on the horizon, it’s going to be a tough night for the Stones.

Bromley face the longest trip as they head north to face Martin Allen’s Chesterfield who have become the draw specialists in English football as they so far have drawn ten of their League games thus far including the last five.

Ebbsfleet United will be looking to continue Saturday’s form as they head to Maidenhead United. Buoyed by the 4-0 drubbing of Halifax on Saturday, the Fleet will also be boosted by Garry Hill’s first signing for the club as Cody McDonald joins the squad as mid table Fleet look to get closer to the Play Off places at the top of the table.

Dover Athletic have arguably the toughest task of the travellers as they head to Boreham Wood whose defeat at AFC Fylde was their first League defeat in five games.

Andy Hessenthaler’s side travel on the back of back to back home wins and will go looking for their first away League win of the season.

In the BOSTIK League, Folkestone Invicta travel to Whitehawk in the Premier Division after bowing out of the Trophy at the weekend whilst after losing at Torquay United on Saturday in the Trophy, Greenwich Borough are on the road again – this time to Lancing and a South Eastern Division game with Horsham.

In the Velocity Trophy Hythe Town welcome Burgess Hill Town to Reachfields.
