Ahead of all 2026 Men’s & Women’s fixtures being revealed on Thursday, Kent Cricket have confirmed that one Kent Men home Rothesay County Championship match will take place at The County Ground, Beckenham this coming season.

This will be the 10th County Championship match to be held at The County Ground since 1954, and the first to be played at The County Ground, Beckenham since 2022.

The date and opponent for Kent’s Championship match at Beckenham in 2026 will be confirmed this coming Thursday. All six of Kent Men’s remaining home Championship matches next season will take place at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury.

Kent Cricket’s Acting CEO, Nimmo Reid, said: “With another packed schedule of cricket on the horizon, we’re excited by the prospect of bringing the Rothesay County Championship back to Beckenham.

“We have listened to feedback from Kent Members and supporters based in the west of the county and in our Metropolitan Kent areas, many of whom would like to see more Kent red-ball cricket in their local area.

“The surface at Beckenham is highly regarded in this format, and the hardworking team at The County Ground were recently recognised at the 2025 Grounds Manager Awards. From a professional cricket standpoint, we feel that Beckenham is well-suited to County Championship cricket and it also gives us a more accommodating pitch management schedule for the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury.

“We remain in contact with Tunbridge Wells Cricket Club, and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, the owners of The Nevill Ground, about long-term aspirations of a return of Kent first teams to Tunbridge Wells. As things stand, however, the facilities at The Nevill are still below the required ECB standards to host first-team fixtures.

“We hope that a County Championship match at Beckenham will give opportunity for supporters based in West Kent to watch more first-team cricket this Summer.”
